A plant, you see is much easier to nurture just the way it is.
Nurturing a plant offers you an excellent way to practice
unconditional cultivation, protection, affection and appreciation.
You’ll come to understand that, like yourself, a plant is a living thing.
You nurture it with sunshine, soil, nutrients and water.
What does it give back? Great question.
The key here is that your plant is also living; it gives off oxygen and takes in
carbon dioxide….yes a plant sort of breathes. It also filters the air of impurities.
You see it gives you the oxygen you need to live and takes in the carbon dioxide
that you breathe out. Nurture’s version of a natural win-win relationship.
Ready to get your hands dirty? Just go to your favorite garden center, select a plant,
preferably a perennial, a plant that you will be delighted to see every day.
Set a routine for taking care of and nurturing this plant as if it were you child
(it is truly easier to care for any plant than a child, any mom will testify to that).
Talk to you plant (really, no one will think you are crazy, trust me). Show it how much
you appreciate it, demonstrate it by wiping its leaves to clear the dust, remove brown leaves,
pay attention to the plant. Nurture your plant whether it blossoms or not,
whether it lives or dies, learn about your plant as you would a friend, do some research.
Notice how you feel when you nurture with care and attention to your plant.
When you offer this kind of pampering you will never again be irritated, agitated or rushed.
You are just being, simply, in a peaceful, nurturing space.
Practice this attention every time you see your plant, visit it at least daily.
You will find that after a short time, you will grow to be able to extend your nurturing ways
and kindness beyond your single plant. Once you notice how wonderfully good and pleased,
even you yourself feel nurtured. See if you can extend this similar level of nurturing to a
person or persons in your life as well as in your business world and watch your garden grow.
Nurture this person just because, because of the way they are.
Your plant will be a wonderful, respectful teacher by encouraging you to nurture those
you need the most.
Good Nurturing
